The Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (TEC) program provides students with a proven approach to evaluating technologies and bringing technology innovations to market. Students evaluate various technologies and determine which are the most promising, and learn business by doing business. At the end of the courses, a full business plan and pitch is developed for the potential startup.

We developed a business plan and pitched our ultimate product, a Fall Armyworm trap that we planned to roll out in Kenya to prevent Fall Armyworm from infesting Kenyan maize farms

Current Topics in Biosciences Management
MBA 585 contains a mix of Microbial Biotechnology and MBA students, and is geared towards business processes and strategies across the global BioSciences value chain, including product life cycles, key elements of product discovery and development, intellectual property, regulatory trials, government approval, production, sourcing, logistics, sales, marketing and customer service.

Legal, Regulatory, and Ethical Issues in Life Science Industries
This course focuses on practical issues such as detailed analyses of Phase I-IV clinical trials and other roles of the FDA, pharmaceutical sales, the IP/patent process and social issues such as ethics and corporate social responsibility.
Final MBA 586 Literature Review
My full semester Literature Review and presentation for MBA 586 focused on legal and ethical challenges in the handling of agricultural data generated by tools in Precision Agriculture.
BUS 554
Project Management
BUS 554 focuses on the tools for organizing and managing technical projects throughout the project life cycle, with application of project management tools and standard project management techniques throughout.
Final Group Project
My team in BUS 554 roleplayed as a real project team presenting a project based on a lighthouse relocation project. We showed the work completed so far, the work still to be completed, and challenges encountered along the way.
